Plows are out around Colorado as crews work to clear snow from roadways, but officials at the Colorado Department of Transportation warn if you can work from home, you should. Driving conditions have already become dangerous Tuesday morning.
Crashes continue to add up across the metro area, and if you must drive, consider preparing your vehicle.
Many more wrecks on and off highway are coming in. Slow down and ease up a bit as the snow gets heavier.

Arvada, Aurora, Boulder, Broomfield, Denver, Douglas County, Fort Collins, Loveland, Thornton and Wheat Ridge are on accident alert. Meanwhile, chain laws are in place for passenger vehicles on Hosier, Loveland and Vail passes. Interstate 70 and U.S. Highway 285 have significant portions with traction laws in place; check out and be prepared to chain up if you are driving in the mountains. Over 100 CDOT plows and over 30 Denver city plows are treating the streets.
CMV Chain Law restrictions and Passenger Vehicle Traction Law restrictions expected for the I-70 and US 285 corridors in a few hours.
Truckers Beware: No rest areas between the Denver Metro and Dotsero, a stretch of more than 130 miles. Plan ahead. S1

The most challenging drive of the day may be out east towards Kansas, where whiteout conditions and snow-packed roads will make Interstate 70 a nightmare. Around 8 a.m. a portion of I-70 near Burlington closed due to an accident.
US Highway 285 was closed due to safety concerns between Parmalee Gulch Road and C-470. The northbound lanes reopened while the southbound lanes are still closed.
On Interstate 25, two crashes a mile apart have shut down two lanes of southbound traffic near Hampden Avenue. The incidents were first reported before 6 a.m. Two lanes were closed near University Boulevard for hours.
Interstate 225 is especially slow near Parker Road because of a few minor crashes. The right lane was closed near Iliff Avenue.
Due to an early rollover crash, lanes were closed on westbound Interstate 76 near 136th Avenue in Brighton. Out near Sterling, between Mile 134 and 126, I-76 is due to a vehicle fire.
6th Avenue through the metro has one eastbound lane closed due to a crash between Indiana Street and Simms Street.
Additionally, RTD warns that bus routes are seeing delays of 30 to 50 minutes in some areas.
⚠️Reminder for the Tuesday morning snowy commute:
