A BNSF Railway employee hit by a train in Denver has died

A railroad employee hit by a train in Denver on Wednesday morning died of his injuries.

The man was hit by train in the area of the 3700 block of Globeville Road, according to an 11:46 a.m. Twitter post by the police. The address of incident is part of the BNSF Railway yard north of Coors Field.

About 3:40 p.m., police announced the man had died. His name will be released by the Denver medical examiner’s office pending notification of family.

An investigation, including the National Transportation Safety Board, into the incident is ongoing.
