Denver’s week of warmth will end with some snow, as a dusting is expected to begin Friday afternoon after another pleasant day on Thursday.

According to the National Weather Service in Boulder, Denver will be 58 degrees under mostly sunny skies on Thursday. Strong and gusty winds will develop in the Foothills Thursday evening and continue to roar through the night.
Gusts up to 65 mph are possible above the treeline and wind prone areas like Peak to Peak Highway, U.S. Highway 287 northwest of Fort Collins and Colorado Highway 93 between Boulder and Golden should expect impacts. Denver will only get winds of 20 mph as the low dips to 32 degrees.
Behind the wind, a cold front will blow in, bringing a chance of snow Friday afternoon and evening. Accumulations will be light, but slick travel is possible around the Denver metro. The snow will start after 3 p.m. as a high of 41 degrees gets replaced by increasing cloud cover. Winds could gust to 25 mph as the weather turns. There’s a 60% of precipitation, with less than an inch of snow possible before sunset.
The chance of snow lasts until midnight, with the evening becoming clearer while temperatures drop into the teens. About an inch of snow is possible, and the forecast calls for Denver to get a maximum of three inches of powder. Both rush hour traffic and those venturing into the mountains for the weekend should be careful of the slick travel conditions Friday night.
Saturday and Sunday will have a lot of sun with highs, possibly in the 50s. A snowstorm is possible midweek next week.
