West Metro firefighters rushed to the 1800 block of South Balsam Street for an overnight blaze at , a senior living facility.

One person was sent to the hospital for injuries that were not life-threatening, while other residents were evacuated into the facility’s lobby, West Metro Fire Rescue said.

The fire began around 4:30 a.m., and several engines responded. Responders quickly contained the fire to one third-floor unit and the attic. Firefighters are still monitoring possible hot spots.

An investigator was on the scene to determine how and where the fire started.

The living facility is just north of Jewell Avenue and west of Wadsworth Boulevard.

On Friday evening, WMFR said 28 facility residents have been displaced by the fire. Some of the displaced are with family, some at hotels, and other went to other metro area senior facilities.
