He was drafted in 1943 and served in the U.S. Navy in the medical corp. The school brought a group of four local World War II veterans, two female civilians and a Japanese American interned at Camp Amache as a child, to present "Living History Lessons" to all sophomore social studies classes. This is the 10th consecutive year WWII veterans from the Clermont Park Life Plan Community have provided living history lessons to Denver South students.
