Indiana Hoosiers
Record: 20-13, 9-11 in Big Ten
Last NCAA trip: 2016, Eliminated in Sweet 16
Leaders: Trayce Jackson-Davis, F, Jr. (18.1 ppg, 8.2 rbg); Xavier Johnson, G, Sr. (12.3 ppg, 5 apg); Race Thompson, F, Sr. (11.5 ppg, 7.6 rpg)
The story: Indiana hired Mike Woodson, a longtime NBA head coach, to help revive a once-proud college basketball program. The initial returns are positive with IU headed to the Big Dance for the first time since 2016. The Hoosiers punched their ticket with a strong performance at the Big Ten tournament with victories over Michigan and Illinois. IU also beat Ohio State and Purdue in the regular season for a total of four “Quad 1” wins on the year. Indiana will likely try to leverage its overall size advantage behind the production of Jackson-Davis (6-foot-9) and Thompson (6-foot-8). Both are skilled playmakers with the ability to create their own shots and defend the rim.
