The storm that rolled through the metro area overnight Wednesday into Thursday may not have been as powerful as some predicted. Still, Denver is snowy for St. Patrick’s Day.
Snow & slick travel to continue through the morning. Several roads are snow/slush covered making for hazardous travel conditions. Road conditions are expected to improve late this morning & afternoon as snow decreases.

According to the National Weather Service in Boulder, snow will stop falling around noon Thursday. Another 2 to 4 inches of snow could fall before lunch in Denver. The high is forecast to reach 40 degrees with 16 mph wind gusts. The NWS warned of challenging travel conditions, saying drivers should allow for more time to reach destinations due to the slushy roads. Overnight temperatures are expected to drop to 20 degrees.
Conditions will warm up and dry out starting Friday. The workweek is expected to end with a sunny, 51-degree day. The nighttime low is forecast to dip to 26 degrees.
Both days this weekend should be around 60 degrees under sunny skies.
Another storm could hit Denver next week, but forecasters aren’t yet sure what that system will look like.
