Two people, a pedestrian hit by a vehicle and the driver who rendered aid to the man he struck, died Friday night in a multivehicle traffic incident on East Colfax Avenue in Aurora.
The incident happened about 7:50 p.m. on Colfax Avenue at Uvalda Street, police said.
A man was walking across Colfax, not using the crosswalk, when he was hit by a Mitsubishi sedan heading west, police said. The driver of the Mitsubishi pulled over and got out of the car to render aid when he was hit by a Mercury Mountaineer. The driver of the Mercury pulled over and remained at the scene.
The pedestrian died at the scene. The driver of the Mitsubishi was taken to a hospital, where he died a short time later.An investigation is ongoing.
