The Congress Park pool will be reopening this summer after construction to expand and renovate the facility began last year, the Denver Aquatics Department said.
Construction of the pool is ongoing, with a waterproofing epoxy currently being applied. The epoxy will need to cure, which could take 14 to 60 days, depending on weather, Cynthia Karvaski of Denver Parks and Recreation said. Karvaski hopes the pool will be open in June, but cannot be sure.
The department plans to post specific lap swim times for each pool online later this week.
La Alma pool will not be opening this summer due to a maintenance issue.
All other Denver public pools will be opening for the summer on June 6.
Karvaski also said that the department is struggling to find enough lifeguards and encouraged students 15-years-old or older to apply.
