Denver weather: More rain, storms coming to Denver this week

More thunderstorms and rain are coming to Denver on Monday, with showers likely before noon, the National Weather Service said.

Cloudy skies are expected all day, with a slight chance of rain in the afternoon. The high is expected to hit 49 degrees. Winds are forecast to reach between 7 and 14 mph, with gusts as high as 22 mph.

The storms are expected to bring snow to the mountains, Rocky Mountain National Park and Cameron Pass through the early afternoon Monday, the weather service said. Snowfall will likely total between 4 and 6 inches.

The eastern plains are forecast to receive rain through the afternoon.

Rain and thunderstorms are expected to continue into Tuesday afternoon with a high of 67 degrees. There is a slight chance of storms on Wednesday, too, with a high of 59 degrees.

After a forecast of more storms on Wednesday night, sun and warmer weather is expected to return on Thursday with a high of 72 degrees, the National Weather Service said.
