A Westminster woman has been sentenced to prison for a 2021 shooting death following a disagreement.

Serena Ahmad, 25, has been sentenced to 14 years in the Colorado Department of Corrections for a February 2021 shooting at her home in the 3400 block of West 112th Circle, according to the Adams County District Attorney’s Office.

According to police investigators, Ahmad had a disagreement with her roommate about “some guests who were at the home,” and she asked the people to leave. When they did not, she got a handgun and fired a single shot, striking and killing a man.

Ahmad, who pleaded guilty to second-degree murder, was also sentenced last week to three years of parole after the prison term is served.
