Denver weather: Sunny skies to follow morning fog on Tuesday

Mostly sunny weather reaching a high of 80 degrees is expected after morning fog burns off Tuesday morning, the National Weather Service said.

A 20% chance of showers and thunderstorms is expected in the afternoon with winds reaching between 5 and 10 mph, with gusts as high as 16 mph, the weather service said. Temperatures will drop to an overnight low of 53 degrees.

In northeast Colorado, severe thunderstorms could come with large hail and damaging winds, the weather service warned.

Chances of thunderstorms are expected to continue through Thursday night, while sunny, warm weather comes to the Denver metro.

Wednesday is forecast to reach a high of 81 degrees, while Thursday is expected to warm to 89 degrees with mostly sunny weather.

Friday and Saturday are expected to bring calmer, sunny weather to the metro area, reaching highs of 87 and 93 degrees.
