
Five family members who died in a four-vehicle crash on Interstate 25 in Weld County were identified Wednesday.
According to the Weld County Coroner’s Office the family members, including an infant, are: Emiliano Godines, 51; Christina Godines, 47; Aaron Godinez, 20; Halie Everts, 20; and 3-month-old Tessleigh Godinez.
The crash happened at about 1:30 p.m. in the northbound lanes of I-25 just south of Colorado 66. The family was returning home to Gillette, Wyoming.
A Colorado State Patrol investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing.
Aaron Godinez was a son of Emiliano and Christina Godines. Everts and Aaron were parents of Tessleigh. Both the Everts and Godines have GoFundMe accounts seeking help with funeral and other expenses.
“As most may know by now Steve and Dez Everts has lost their daughter Halie, son-in-law Aaron and their beautiful brand new baby granddaughter, Tessleigh Raey in a very tragic car crash,” said a by Tammy Scott for the Everts. “Aaron and Halie were young and just starting their beautiful family, however God had other plans.”
Emiliano and Christina Godines are survived by their children Christian and Abigail Godinez. A GFM page to is organized by Ariana Cortez.
“We are heartbroken as you all may know,” the page says. “My uncle Emiliano and my aunt Christina were in (Monday’s) car accident as well. Christian and Abigail… have lost both their parents, brother, sister and niece. They are devastated; I’m reaching out to everyone to help my cousins in this time of need, our family will appreciate all donations and help.”
