Joe Castinado sits on a collection of some of his hundreds of patents on June 28, 2022 in Denver. Castinado is a patent inventor and technology executive for Bank of America. He has 173 active patents and applications, 109 of which have received patents. He has been an inventor on 226 patents. He is a second-generation Mexican-American who grew up in western Nebraska and whose parents were migrant farm workers.

Growing up in Nebraska, Joe Castinado, the son and grandson of migrant farm workers from Mexico, worked in feedlots and helped in the bean and sugar beet fields. His family valued hard work and education. Those led Castinado to another field: technology.
