After a driver opened the door and fell out of his moving vehicle on Interstate 25 in Denver, he was hit by multiple vehicles, resulting in his death, police said.
TRAFFIC: officers are investigating a fatal crash involving a motorist and a pedestrian on NB I-25 near Downing St. exit. One adult male was pronounced deceased. Traffic on I-25 in this area is being diverted. Investigation is ongoing. Updates will be posted here

The incident happened in the northbound lanes near South Downing Street, police said in .
Police said on Thursday that a driver of a moving vehicle opened his door and fell onto the highway as the vehicle was traveling at a high speed. Earlier, police said they were looking for a driver who left the scene of the collision, but that is no longer the case.
“Upon further investigation, investigators are no longer seeking another vehicle believed to be involved in this crash,” police said on Thursday.
Traffic was detoured off the highway Wednesday evening as an investigation unfolded.
