Food truck vendors set up for the afternoon lunch crowd June 18, 2015 at Civic Center Park. How are small businesses and entrepreneurs that use credit card readers like Square that attach to their phone or tablet handling the Oct. 1 deadline to have card readers that can handle cards with microchips. Among those affected are food truck operators.

Denver police and the Department of Transportation and Infrastructure last weekend blocked food truck vendors from setting up on Market, Blake and Larimer streets between 18th and 22nd streets.
