A deputy in Larimer County shot a man armed with a knife, according to the sheriff’s office.
The police shooting unfolded about 10 p.m. Friday when a deputy tried to pull over a vehicle in the 2800 block of the Southeast Frontage Road in Johnstown, according to a news release. The driver fled north on the Frontage Road at a high speed.

At a roundabout at Colorado 402, a pursuing deputy stopped the fleeing vehicle by bumping it with a patrol vehicle, the release said.
A man armed with a knife got out of the vehicle and approached deputies, disregarding orders to stop, the sheriff’s office said. A deputy shot the man, and he was taken to a hospital with serious wounds. No deputies were injured.
The shooting is being investigated by the 8th Judicial District and led by the Loveland Police Department.
