Denver police on Sunday arrested two men in connection with the fatal shooting of a juvenile on Saturday, the agency said in a statement.

Emilio Gomez, 20, is being held for investigation of first-degree murder and Josiah Cruz, 18, for investigation of accessory to first-degree murder, police said.

The victim was identified Tuesday as 16-year-old Khant Naing. He died of a gunshot wound and his manner of death is a homicide, according to the Denver Office of the Medical Examiner.

The shooting happened overnight Saturday in the 2200 block of Buchtel Boulevard South, police said, which is just south of Interstate 25 near the University of Denver campus. The victim, a male, died at the scene, police said.
