One man died and another man was seriously injured Saturday in a three-vehicle crash on in Broomfield.

The crash, in the northbound lanes of the highway, happened at about 2:40 a.m., said Josh Lewis, a spokesman.

One driver, a 48-year-old Evans man, died at the scene. A second driver, a 23-year-old Thornton man, was taken to a hospital with serious injuries, Lewis said. The driver from Thornton is being investigated as a DUI suspect.

Three vehicles involved in the crash were a 2007 Jeep Commander, a 2007 GMC Yukon and a Nissan Versa. The third driver was not injured. An investigation is ongoing.
