One person was killed and multiple people were injured in an overnight apartment fire in Arvada.
Just after midnight firefighters responded to a fire at Village West Apartments at 58th Ave/Urban St. They were met with heavy fire and smoke. Multiple people transported to area hospitals. Red Cross is assisting those who are displaced. Investigators are on scene.

Firefighters responded to the Village West Apartments at 58th Avenue and Urban Street just after midnight where they were met with heavy smoke and fire.
Multiple people were taken to hospitals, one person died.
An Arvada police officer and a sergeant were taken to Lutheran Medical Center to be treated for smoke inhalation and they were both released, police said.
On Wednesday afternoon police, on Twitter, released an officer’s body camera footage as he responded to the fire.
Arvada Police Officers responded to the Village West Apartments, 12155 W. 58th Place, at 12:16 am on a call for service and discovered a fire on a first-floor apartment in the east building.
