A 30-year-old man is sentenced to life in prison for the shooting death of a teenager in Denver.

A Denver jury on Wednesday found Shamil Jefferson guilty of the Dec. 21, 2017, shooting of 17-year-old Zalynnda Kassogue in the Green Valley Ranch neighborhood, according to the . Zalynnda was sitting in her red Jeep when she was shot.

The before returning with a guilty verdict in the murder case. Jefferson was immediately sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
