A man died overnight Friday after a driver hit him near 11th Avenue and Speer Boulevard.
The man was walking when the driver hit him and apparently left the crash scene, the Denver Police Department said in a 9:41 p.m. tweet. The man was taken to a hospital where he died.
UPDATE: The adult male pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the hospital. The hit-and-run driver, an adult male, later returned to the crash location and has been arrested for Careless Driving Resulting in Death.

Neither the man who died nor the driver has been identified.
