Patches of fog in low areas, mist and cold gray clouds enveloped metro Denver with temperatures Wednesday morning measuring just below freezing.
National Weather Service forecasters said Wednesday’s high temperature in Denver will reach 37 degrees under mostly cloudy skies. Wednesday night is expected to bring snow here and there with freezing drizzle before 11 pm — and possibly light snow later. No major accumulations are likely, forecasters said.
The sun may appear Thursday.

The humidity hit 93% west of metro Denver Wednesday morning, according to the weather service. Low-hanging cold clouds loaded with water droplets led to ice crystals forming and falling out as snowflakes in some areas, meteorologists said.
The wind speeds along Colorado’s Front Range registered mostly less than 7 miles per hour — relatively calm.
Hazardous conditions remained on the eastern plains Wednesday morning with freezing light drizzle leading to slick roads. Fog floated low in some mountain valleys, where roads mostly were dry. Scattered snow, less than 4 inches, was likely over northern mountains where forecasters said temperatures could drop as low as 8 degrees Wednesday night.
