Denver weather: A warm dry spell setting up into early next week

Drier and warmer weather is in the Denver forecast on Sunday and extending into the week.

Saturday in the city there’s a slight chance for showers into the afternoon, skies will be partly sunny and the high temperature will top out near 51 degrees, according to the . It will be breezy, with gusts up to 24 mph and the chance for precipitation is 20%. Tonight, skies will be mostly clear with winds gusting to about 20 mph and a low temp around 31 degrees.

Sunny skies over Denver on Sunday will help push the high temp to around 66 degrees, according to the weather service. Overnight Sunday skies will be mostly clear and the low temp will be near 37 degrees.

Monday in the city skies will be mostly sunny with a high temperature pushing to about 74 degrees, the weather service said.

The upcoming warm, dry spell will in the area, especially on Tuesday. Showers return to the mountains late Tuesday or early Wednesday, with some moisture spreading onto the plains. There’s a slight chance for afternoon rain in Denver on Wednesday.
