It will be sunny and mild in the metro area through the weekend with high temperatures climbing into the 70s into next week.

Saturday in Denver the high temperature will be about 73 degrees, according to the , with winds gusting to about 15 mph. The overnight low temperature in the city will drop to about 41 degrees under partly cloudy skies.

Sunny to mostly sunny skies are expected over Denver on Sunday and Monday, with a high temperature of 70 and 73 degrees respectively, the weather service said. Overnight lows around town will be in the 40s.

Scattered afternoon showers and into the week, the weather service said, with a chance of isolated showers and storms on the plains bringing generally light precipitation.

Monday in Denver there’s a 20% chance for precipitation during the afternoon with winds gusting to about 15 mph. By mid-week in the city, stormy weather will bring a marginal threat of locally heavy rainfall.
