Eastbound lanes of U.S. 6 reopened at 2:13 p.m. after flooding closed the road in West Denver. Westbound lanes were reopened shortly before 2 p.m., officials said.

Colorado Department of Transportation officials had closed the highway in both directions between Colorado 88 (Federal Boulevard) and Colorado 95 (Sheridan Boulevard) as storms hit the area, according to agency and police postings on Twitter. The police advised travelers to find other routes.

Flooding near the intersection with Perry Street forced the closure, officials said.
