One person is dead after a shooting in Denver and police homicide detectives are investigating.
The shooting happened near the 2200 block of Welton Street, officials said in a posting at 1:28 a.m. on X, the social media site formerly called Twitter. The victim was taken to a hospital and died later Wednesday morning, police said.
The victim wasn’t identified. No arrests have been made. The Denver police postings said officers were “working to develop suspect information.”
UPDATE: The victim in this incident has been pronounced deceased and this is now being investigated as a homicide. Office of the Medical Examiner will release victim ID. No arrests at this time.
