Two dead overnight in Denver stabbing, shooting homicides, police say

Two homicide investigations are underway after two men died Friday night, according to the Denver Police Department

Two men died in separate homicides — a stabbing and a shooting — overnight Friday in Denver, police announced Saturday.

Denver police investigators were on the scene of a fatal shooting in the 9800 block of East Girard Avenue just after 11 p.m. Friday, .

An adult man was found dead at the scene who was identified as Derrick Rogers in a Wednesday release from the Denver Office of the Medical Examiner. , the police department announced his death was being investigated as a homicide.

Just 10 miles north, Denver police were investigating a second homicide — a fatal stabbing in the 4900 block of North Ursula Street, . A second, unrelated adult man, who was identified as DeShaun Lockett in the same release, was pronounced dead at the scene and the police department announced his death was being investigated as a .
