One dead in overnight Denver shooting on Colfax Avenue, police investigating

The shooting happened near the intersection of East Colfax Avenue and Spruce Street, according to the Denver Police Department

Denver police are investigating after a man was shot and killed in the city’s East Colfax neighborhood Wednesday night.

Officers responded to reports of a shooting that came in at 8:04 a.m. and were on scene — near the intersection of East Colfax Avenue and Spruce Street — at 8:08 p.m., said Siena Riley, a spokesperson for the Denver Police Department.

The police department first ., after paramedics transported one man to the hospital. The man, later identified as 32-year-old Mark Williams, died from his injuries less than an hour later.

Williams died as a result of gunshot wounds and his death was a homicide, according to the Denver Office of the Medical Examiner.

The investigation is ongoing and no arrests have been made.
