More than 600 flights delayed at Denver International Airport for thunderstorms

More than 600 flights were delayed at Denver International Airport on Friday as a severe thunderstorm brought wind gusts up to 60 mph across the region.

There were 609 flights delayed as of 8 p.m., , most of which were on Southwest and United Airlines.

Arriving flights are delayed up to 30 minutes because of the wind,

The National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm for the airport and parts of Adams and Arapahoe counties, with wind gusts up to 60 mph and pea-sized hail possible until 8:30 p.m.
