Denver ties record high Wednesday, with more scorching temps ahead

Denver tied its record high temperature of 97 degrees on Wednesday,

The temperature tying the record high for the day last seen in 1952.

Temperatures , falling short of the record high of 99 degrees last recorded in 2022, according to NWS forecasters.

The heat will dissipate slightly on Friday with afternoon thunderstorms and a high of 86 degrees before back up to the 90s through the weekend.

Forecasters issued an through 4 p.m. Thursday for high ozone levels, including Douglas, Jefferson, Denver, western Arapahoe, western Adams, Broomfield, Larimer and Weld counties.
