One dead, one arrested in fatal Westminster shooting Thursday

One man is dead and another is in custody after a fatal shooting in Westminster on Thursday.

Westminster officers responded to reports of a shooting at a house in the 3200 block of West 81st Avenue around 4:30 p.m. Thursday, according to a .

When police arrived at the home, they immediately found an adult man suffering from a gunshot wound inside, the release stated. Paramedics transported the man to a nearby hospital where he died from his injuries.

Police said “all parties” remained on scene and cooperated with officers. Information on how many people were inside the home was not available.

One man — 21-year-old Fernando Arturo Gomez-Cordero — was arrested on suspicion of manslaughter, police said in the release.

The man who was killed was identified on Aug. 15 by the Adams County Coroner’s Office as Dennis Uriel Fraire, 30.
