Commerce City warehouse fire sends up smoke in the metro area

Emergency crews from across the metro area battled and extinguished a fire that sparked in a Commerce City industrial warehouse Saturday morning.

The South Adams County fire crews responded to a fire in a large, industrial warehouse around 7 a.m. Saturday, according to a from the fire department.

Active flames and a plume of black smoke could be seen coming from the building, fire officials said.

By 9:30 a.m., firefighters had extinguished the flames and were working to put out remaining hot spots.

Adams County Fire Rescue, North Metro Fire Rescue, the Platte Valley Ambulance Service and the Commerce City Police Department all responded to the Saturday morning fire.

No injuries were reported Saturday morning and an estimate of the damage done in the fire was not available.
