One person was killed in a single-vehicle crash and car fire on Interstate 25 in Castle Pines on Monday, shutting down the northbound highway for more than four hours.

Emergency crews responded to a single-vehicle crash on northbound I-25 near Ridgegate Parkway at 4 p.m., the police officials said in a news release.
The vehicle was driving northbound on I-25 when the driver hit a median and the vehicle caught fire, police officials said.
South Metro Fire Rescue officials said and the car fire was “fully involved.”
The driver died from their injuries, Lone Tree police said.
Update: Police will be investigating this accident. Currently one lane of northbound I-25 is getting g though on the left shoulder. Please avoid the area and use an alternate route if available.
