Class 5A

1. Cherry Creek (2-1) won vs. Regis Jesuit, 42-7. The Bruins’ first game in Colorado this season ended in a rout, as the Creek defense held Regis scoreless until the late stages of the fourth quarter. The Bruins have now beaten the Raiders six straight times dating back to 2020 and have topped 40 points in each of the last three meetings. Next week: at Highland Park (Texas), 7 p.m. Sept. 20.

2. Mountain Vista (4-0) won at Cherokee Trail, 42-0: Shut out in the first quarter for the first time this season, the Golden Eagles responded with a 28-point second quarter to take control. Austyn Modrzewski threw TD passes to Jakhai Mack and Jack Blais, the special teams recovered a muffed snap in the end zone and Blais ran in another long score in the deciding frame. Modrzewski finished with four TD passes, the last two going to Sean Conway and Blais in the second half to trigger a running clock. Next week: Bye.

3. Columbine (3-0) won vs. Fossil Ridge, 35-21: Running backs James Basinger (27 carries, 250 yards) and Mark Snyder (12-112) took turns gashing the Fossil Ridge defense to the tune of 362 yards and all five Columbine TDs. Basinger’s final scoring run, from 39 yards out, gave Columbine a 35-14 lead midway through the fourth quarter that was too much for Fossil Ridge to overcome. Senior QB Nick Kubat had 169 yards and three TDs on 20-of-30 passing in the loss. Next week: vs. 4A No. 7 Vista Ridge, 7:30 p.m. Sept. 19.

4. Valor Christian (3-0) won at Salt Lake City East, 30-14: Cash Spence scored one touchdown rushing and two receiving on passes from QB Dawson Olk — the last a 10-yarder that put the game away for good with 2:11 left — as Valor came away with a victory in Utah. Next week: at Mullen, 7 p.m. Sept. 20.

5. Legend (3-1) won vs. Prairie View, 55-0: The Titans bounced back from a narrow loss to Columbine by rolling for 208 yards and four touchdowns on the ground and notching their second shutout of the season. Next week: Bye.

6. Ralston Valley (3-0) won vs. Mullen, 27-0: QB Zeke Andrews completed 18 of 28 passes for 303 yards and two touchdowns, both to Levi Rillos (7 catches, 202 yards), and the Ralston Valley defense notched its first shutout of the season. Next week: vs. ThunderRidge, 4 p.m. Sept. 19.

7. Chatfield (3-0) won vs. Eaglecrest, 23-16. Cash Williams went over the top from 1 yard out to put the Chargers ahead for good with 19.8 seconds left in a back-and-forth affair. The sophomore threw TD passes to Roni Rohlman and Rome Bell, while Hunter Balderston notched a safety to help Chatfield build a 16-8 lead. But Joe Steiner hooked up with Logan Robitaille for a long TD pass to knot the score at 16-all with 8:56 to go, forcing Chatfield to produce the late heroics. Next week: vs. Brighton, 7:30 p.m. Sept. 20.

: Luke Strickland scored twice (one running and another receiving) and four other Knights found the end zone in the first half as Fairview rolled to a 42-0 lead and never looked back. Ki Ellison had a pair of passing TDs. Next week: at Monarch, 7 p.m. Sept. 20.

9. Grandview (0-3) lost at Legacy, 34-27: The Wolves saw a 14-point lead evaporate as Legacy scored four straight TDs in the second half. Tyler Anderson scored three (two rushing) and sophomore QB Andrew Gardner hit Dominic Mezarina for a 29-yard strike on the last of his three TD passes to take the lead for good. Gardner finished with 219 yards and two picks on 14-of-23 passing, while junior Peyton Studebaker had four catches for 123 yards. Grandview QB Blitz McCarty threw one TD pass to Xay Neto and ran for two more. Next week: at Rock Canyon, 7 p.m. Sept. 20.

10. Castle View (3-0) won at Horizon, 51-6: The Sabercats held an opponent to single-digit scoring for the third straight week, and the offense put up its highest point total in three years to start 3-0 for the second season in a row. Next week: at Douglas County, 6:30 p.m. Sept. 19.

Class 4A

1. Palmer Ridge (3-0) won at Lewis-Palmer, 48-19: The Bears got a brief scare, trailing late in the first quarter at 13-7 for the first time this season, then scored 24 straight to take a 31-13 lead in the third quarter and roll to their 27th straight regular-season win. To top it off, . Next week: at Longmont, 7 p.m. Sept. 19.

: Quarterback Darien Jackson threw touchdown passes to four different receivers, Colin Torres and Elliot Less added rushing TDs and the Eagles topped 40 points for the third straight game to start the season. Next week: vs. Legacy, 7 p.m. Sept. 20.

3. Montrose (3-0) Bye: The Red Hawks got a week off after rolling through their first three opponents by a combined score of 125-36. They have won nine straight regular-season games dating back to last season. Next week: vs. Grand Junction Central, 7 p.m. Sept. 20.

4. Mesa Ridge (2-1) lost at No. 8 Dakota Ridge, 19-14: QB Bryce Riehl found tight end Zander Iwanski for a 6-yard TD pass to pull the Grizzlies within a score with 10:05 left, but the normally explosive Mesa Ridge offense didn’t find the end zone again in its first loss of the season. Next week: vs. No. 6 Heritage, 7 p.m. Sept. 20.

5. Pueblo West (4-0) won vs. 3A No. 2 Lutheran, 47-21: Senior QB Gavin Lockett hooked up with Jayden Gylling and Brock Keck for touchdown passes and ran in three more scores, including a 30-yarder with 2:27 left in the third quarter that put the game on ice, as the Cyclones topped 40 points for the third time in four games. Next week: Bye.

6. Heritage (2-1) won vs. Northfield, 40-17. The Eagles rebounded from last week’s loss to Arapahoe in the Milk Jug game with their second 40-point performance of the season. Heritage handed Northfield its third consecutive loss to a ranked opponent to start the season. Next week: at No. 4 Mesa Ridge, 7 p.m. Sept. 20.

7. Vista Ridge (3-0) won vs. Denver South, 24-0: The Wolves posted their first shutout of the season and beat a DPS team for the second time in three weeks (Montbello was the other) to start 3-0 for the first time in nine years. Next week: at 5A No. 3 Columbine, 7:30 p.m. Sept. 19.

8. Dakota Ridge (2-1) won vs. No. 3 Mesa Ridge, 19-14: Landon Kalsbeck was a one-man wrecking crew, running for a pair of TDs and registering three first-half sacks to lead the Eagles to a second straight win. Kalsbeck’s second scoring run gave Dakota Ridge a 19-7 lead in the third quarter — just enough to take down the third-ranked Grizzlies. Next week: at 3A No. 9 Pomona, 4 p.m. Sept. 20.

9. Ponderosa (1-2) lost vs. 3A No. 1 Roosevelt, 42-24: The Mustangs took a 24-21 lead early in the fourth quarter on a field goal, but Roosevelt closed out the game with 21 unanswered points to remain undefeated. Rough Rider running back Milo Pascual ran in two of his three TDs in the deciding frame, and Noel Sanchez’s 25-yard pick-six sealed it. Next week: at Falcon, 7 p.m. Sept. 20.

10. Riverdale Ridge (3-0) won at Severance, 13-8: The Ravens surrendered their first points of the season but still managed to escape with the victory. Next week: vs. Thornton, 7 p.m. Sept. 20.

Class 3A

1. Roosevelt (3-0) won at 4A No. 9 Ponderosa, 42-24. Next week: at Rifle, 7 p.m. Sept. 20.

2. Lutheran (2-1) lost at 4A No. 5 Pueblo West, 47-21. Next week: vs. Resurrection Christian, 7 p.m. Sept. 20.

3. Holy Family (1-1) bye. Next week: at Lewis-Palmer, 7 p.m. Sept. 20.

4. Green Mountain (1-2) lost at No. 9 Pomona, 33-7. Next week: vs. Northridge, 7 p.m. Sept. 20.

5. Windsor (2-1) won vs. Montbello, 54-0. Next week: at Severance, 7 p.m. Sept. 20.

6. Mead (2-0) bye. Next week: at Greeley West, 7 p.m. Sept. 20.

7. Thompson Valley (3-0) won at Tinmath, 24-9. Next week: vs. Loveland, 7 p.m. Sept. 20.

8. Pueblo Central (3-0) won vs. Alamosa, 43-0. Next week: vs. Moorpark, 7 p.m. Sept. 20.

9. Pomona (2-1) won vs. No. 4 Green Mountain, 33-7. Next week: vs. 4A No. 8 Dakota Ridge, 4 p.m. Sept. 20.
