
Throughout last week’s Denver Post, there were several instances of āTrump lied in the debate, but Harris didnāt.ā This is simply not the case.
That she grew up a āmiddle-class kid.ā Not true. Harrisās father was a professor at Stanford University, while her mother, who raised Kamala after the parents divorced, was a biomedical scientist at UC Berkeley.
That the 2017 tax cuts approved by the Trump administration disproportionately benefited Americaās billionaires and corporations. Not true. An has shown that āon average, all income brackets benefited substantially.ā
Trump will implement a āsales tax.ā Not true. Trump has not pledged to do that .
The Jan. 6 riot at the Capitol was the āworst attack on our democracy since the Civil War.ā Not true. Jan. 6 did not expose Americans to risks like those experienced during World War I, the Japanese attacks on Pearl Harbor, World War II, etc.
If elected, Trump will implement Project 2025. Trump has repeatedly said he has nothing to do with Project 2025.
Several states have āTrump abortion bans.ā Not true. Every pro-life policy on the books includes exceptions for abortion when it is deemed necessary to save the life of a pregnant woman.
Trump will sign a national abortion ban. Not true. Trump has said multiple times that he would not sign federal legislation curbing abortion, although he also has an abortion ban.
Trump āwould essentially be immune from any misconduct if he were to enter the White House again.ā Not true. The court said, ā[t]here is no immunity for unofficial acts.ā
Harris claimed she made herself āvery clear in 2020.ā āI will not ban fracking,ā she said.Ā But, in 2020, she said, āThere is no question Iām in favor of banning fracking.ā
Harris deniedĀ that she undertook efforts toĀ bail outĀ left-wing rioters following the 2020 death of George Floyd. Not true. Harris encouraged her social media followers toĀ donate to a bail fundĀ dedicated to those arrested for their months-long,Ā $2 billionĀ siege of cities like Minneapolis.
HarrisĀ claimedĀ that āsomeā police officers died as a result of the demonstrations at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021. Not true. One died of natural causes.
Trump praised white supremacists marching in Charlottesville, Virginia, in 2017 when he said there were āfine people on both sides.ā This is false. Trump referredĀ on allowing historic monuments to remain standing.
āThere is not one member of the US military who is on active duty in a combat zoneā¦ā Not true. We have troops in Syria and Iraq who are routinely attacked by Iran-backed militias.
Harris claimed that she doesnāt support mandatory gun confiscation. That is false. She hasĀ openly expressed supportĀ for such a policy.
She said she doesnāt support defunding the police, but her past support was quickly confirmed.
