Denver scooter rider seriously injured in crash with RTD train

A Denver scooter rider was hit by a train and seriously injured Sunday morning, police said.

Denver officers responded to reports of the scooter-train crash around 1 a.m. Sunday, near East 42nd Avenue and North Clayton Street and just south of Interstate 70, according to a .

Investigators said the unidentified victim was riding a stand-up scooter and collided with the Regional Transportation District’s A Line commuter train.

Paramedics took the scooter rider to the hospital with serious injuries.

Denver police said to expect delays in the area during the investigation and RTD officials .

The , which runs between Union Station and Denver International Airport, is closed at its four westmost stations: Union Station, 38th & Blake Station, 40th & Colorado Station and Central Park Station.
