5 injured in 3 overnight shootings across Denver, police say

The shootings spanned Denver’s Five Points, Montbello and Virginia Village neighborhoods, police said

Five people were injured in three Denver shootings Saturday night and Sunday morning, police said.

No arrests have been announced in any of the incidents, including a triple shooting in the 4400 block of East Jewell Avenue early Sunday morning.

Around 5:40 a.m. Sunday, officers were investigating a shooting on East Jewell Avenue in the city’s Virginia Village neighborhood.

Paramedics originally took one person to the hospital but, , police said two more victims were later found and also taken to hospitals. The extent of their injuries remains unknown.

The night before, around 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Denver officers responded to the first of the three shootings.

A fifth victim was shot early Sunday morning in the 2300 block of Welton Street in Denver’s Five Points neighborhood, in a 3:04 a.m. statement. The extent of the victim’s injuries remains unknown.

In all three cases, information about the victims, events leading up to the shooting and suspects was unavailable Sunday morning.
