
A winter storm that dropped several inches of snow across the Denver metro area Thursday night — leading to school delays and cancellations and hazardous road conditions — is expected to clear up Friday ahead of a sunny weekend, with highs in the 50s forecast.
Snow is expected to stop by 8 a.m. and temps will climb to 39 before falling to 19 overnight, A high of 52 and sunny skies are forecast Saturday, followed by temps near 60 on Sunday.
The National Weather Service warns along the Interstate 70 mountain corridor, southern foothills and Interstate 25 corridor from Denver south across the Palmer Divide, causing a slow morning commute Friday.
Despite this, Colorado’s Department of Transportation reported roadways were mostly open Friday morning, after a string of weather-related closures Thursday impacting I-70.
