A 23-year-old man was shot and killed Tuesday night on the western edge of Aurora, just over a mile north of Cherry Creek Reservoir, police said.
Aurora officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 10800 block of East Bethany Drive at about 9:45 p.m. Tuesday, according to a news release from the police department.
When they arrived on the scene, officers found one victim who had been shot, police said.
Paramedics took the man to a hospital Tuesday with life-threatening injuries. In a Wednesday morning update, police said the man had died. He was later identified by the Arapahoe County Coroner’s Office as Yousef Jamal Elnaffar, 23.
The investigation revealed the victim was in the area for a transaction set up through an online marketplace, .
The block where the shooting happened is on the western edge of Aurora and is home to a used car dealership, a first aid training center, a Falck Rocky Mountain ambulance hub and Crescent View Academy for preschool and elementary school students.
As of Wednesday afternoon, no suspects had been identified and no arrests had been made.
