Colorado public health officials issued an and Front Range on Tuesday, with ozone concentrations expected to rise to levels that are unhealthy for some groups of people.
The alert applies to the urban corridor from Douglas to Larimer and Weld counties and includes the Denver metro, Fort Collins, Greeley and areas in between, the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment .
are expected to range from moderate to unhealthy for sensitive groups through the end of the day. Active children and adults and people with lung disease and asthma should reduce prolonged or heavy outdoor exercise until 10 p.m.
People who are unusually sensitive to ozone should avoid prolonged or heavy outdoor exercise between noon and 10 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday, public health officials said.
