Colorado weather: Flash flood warning issued for I-25 corridor in north El Paso County

A is active for the Interstate 25 corridor in northern El Paso County, including Monument and Palmer Lake, according to the National Weather Service.

Weather radars picked up thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the area at 1:45 p.m. and forecasters expect another half-inch to inch of rain to fall in the next 30 minutes.

Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin soon in small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets, underpasses and areas with poor drainage, NWS officials said. The alert is active until at least 3:15 p.m. Tuesday.
