More than 600 flights headed in and out of Denver International Airport on Wednesday were delayed by weather, .
As of 5 p.m., 644 flights failed to leave the gate on time and three were canceled, according to flight tracking data from .
The delays started to stack up Wednesday morning, when FAA officials issued a ground delay for “low visibility” at the Denver airport. That delay started at about 7 a.m. and, by the time it lifted at 11 a.m., delayed roughly 200 flights.
A new ground delay started just before 2:30 p.m. for thunderstorms in the area, according to the federal agency. Flights are delayed an as of 5 p.m.
Southwest delayed 199 flights Wednesday, followed by 202 from United, 171 from SkyWest, 20 from Frontier and 19 from Delta.
SkyWest canceled two flights, and United canceled one.
