An Amazon delivery driver was arrested after trying to sexually assault an employee at a Lakewood dental office on Monday, police officials said.
Michael Dewey Coleman, 31, of Denver was arrested on suspicion of sexual assault, unlawful sexual contact, assault, criminal mischief, disorderly conduct and harassment, the said in a news release Tuesday.
Police were called about an assault happening at Emerald Dental, 12093 W. Alameda Parkway, at 3:08 p.m. Monday and arrived to find a group of people holding Coleman down.
Witnesses told police that Coleman was in the office to deliver a package when he tried to sexually assault an employee. He also attacked other employees, leaving one person with serious injuries, according to the police department.
In a statement on Tuesday, Amazon spokesperson Dannea DeLisser described the allegations as scary and said they are being taken seriously.
“We’re cooperating fully with law enforcement in their investigation. The individual is no longer delivering packages to Amazon customers,” DeLisser said.
Coleman is in custody at the Jefferson County Jail on a $50,000 bail, according to court records. Information about his next court appearance was not immediately available.
