Westminster man dies in head-on crash on Colorado 128 in Boulder County

A 56-year-old Westminster man died and another man was seriously injured Sunday after a head-on crash on Colorado 128 and West 120th Avenue southwest of Superior.

The man who died was driving a sedan eastbound on Colorado 128 around 5:20 p.m., when he went into the westbound lane, hitting an SUV head-on, according to Colorado State Patrol Trooper Gabriel Moltrer. The crash happened on Colorado 128 around West 120th Avenue, according to a .

The man’s sedan rolled off to the south side of the highway, and he was pronounced dead at the scene, Moltrer said.

The SUV driver, a 54-year-old Golden man, was taken to a hospital with serious injuries after his car also rolled off to the south side of the highway, according to Moltrer.

Both men were wearing seatbelts, and there were no passengers in either car.

Colorado 128 was closed between Colorado 93 and McCaslin Boulevard until about 9:20 p.m. Sunday, Moltrer said.
