The Regional Transportation Districtap A Line hit a white pickup truck that drove around a crossing arm to try to beat the train on Tuesday morning, according to the Aurora Police Department.
The crash happened at the Smith Road and Sable Boulevard crossing at 9:50 a.m., police spokesperson Gabby Easterwood said.
A video of the crash shows the truck trying to drive around the crossing barriers on the wrong side of the road before stopping, which is when the train hit the back of the truck. The truck fled the scene after the crash, police said.
One person was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
For several hours, was replaced by shuttle buses at several stops due to the crash, including the Central Park, Peoria and Gateway Park stations.
