Slater’s 50/50 is cooked.

The burger bar on the ground floor of The Hub office building in RiNo closed at the end of February, according to signs posted outside its 3600 Blake St. space.

The spot, known for burgers that are 50% bacon and 50% beef, opened in the summer of 2020. The franchisee who brought Slater’s to Colorado was Charlie Murray, who had a career in investments before his food foray.

After leasing the 5,200 square feet in 2019, Murray told BusinessDen he purchased the rights to Slater’s for all of Colorado. At the time, he had plans for up to five more spots, although additional locations never transpired.

Murray became a fan of the brand during work trips to Southern California.

“I ended up stumbling into a Slater’s, and I thought it was fun and awesome,” he said. “Over the next several years, every time I was in SoCal I’d go there.”

Slater’s was founded in 2009 by Scott Slater in California. Its website lists locations there and in Nevada and Hawaii.

Slater’s did not respond to a request for comment from BusinessDen.
