On Saturday, the 64th annual parade marches through the Mile High City led by Grand Marshal Sheila O'Brien, creator of the UK/Ireland Cinema Showcase and founder of The Sheila K. O'Brien Foundation. Expect festive floats and more than 100 bagpipers to help celebrate the holiday.

The parade begins at 9:30 a.m. at the corner of 19th and Wynkoop, before turning left on 17th to Blake Street, then marching east on Blake and ending at 27th and Blake at the Coors Field parking lot. The walking route takes about 15 minutes, but the event is expected to last longer because of how many participants are involved. Organizers recommend parking at the Convention Center or Coors Field garages.

About 300,000 people typically attend, so be prepared for crowds and to walk sizable distances. Many bars and restaurants throughout Lower Downtown will be open to make sure attendees don’t get too hungry or thirsty.

If you’d rather watch from home, the Denver St. Patrick’s Day Parade will be broadcast on Fox31/KDVR and Channel 2. Otherwise, enjoy pictures from last year's event below:
