Above-normal temperatures are expected to continue in Denver this week as the city’s first 90-degree day of 2026 enters the forecast, according to the National Weather Service.
“Normal” temperature highs for this time of March range from 58 to 60 degrees in Denver, . Most of this week’s highs in the city are expected to hit 15 to 30 degrees above that, .
According to the weather service, near-record and record-breaking temperatures include highs of:
- 73 degrees on Monday, four degrees short of the 77-degree record for March 23 set in 2017.
- 83 degrees on Tuesday, which would break the March 24 heat record of 76 degrees set in 1896.
- 90 degrees on Wednesday, which would break the March 25 heat record of 75 degrees set in 2025 and the overall March heat record for the .
Denver temperatures in the 70s on Thursday and Saturday won’t come close to breaking any records, but will still be more than a dozen degrees above normal for the season, forecasters said.
The earliest Denver has recorded a 90-degree day in previous years was on April 30, 1992, .
