Denver weather: When, where and how much will it snow this week?

Snow is expected to return to Denver on Friday, dropping several inches across the metro area by early Saturday morning, according to the National Weather Service.

, snow is expected to accumulate across Colorado between 6 a.m. Wednesday and 6 a.m. Saturday included:

  • 1 inch in Bennett, Brighton, Broomfield, Commerce City, Denver, Longmont and Northglenn, with up to 2 inches possible
  • 1 inch in Aurora, Castle Rock, Centennial, Highlands Ranch, Littleton and Parker, with up to 3 inches possible
  • 2 inches in Boulder and Breckenridge, with up to 4 inches possible
  • 3 inches at the Keystone Ski Area Summit and on Interstate 70’s Vail Pass, with up to 5 inches possible
  • 4 inches in Evergreen, with up to 5 inches possible
  • 4 inches in Estes Park, Georgetown and Idaho Springs, with up to 7 inches possible
  • 5 inches in Winter Park and Coal Creek Canyon, with up to 9 inches possible
  • 6 inches in Eldora and on U.S. 40’s Berthoud Pass near Winter Park, with up to 10 inches possible
  • 6 inches at Bear Lake in Rocky Mountain National Park, with up to 12 inches possible
  • 7 inches on Colorado 14’s Cameron Pass near Gould, with up to 12 inches possible

“Slick road conditions and travel impacts can be expected in most of the mountains, foothills, and even the Palmer Divide (on) Friday and Friday evening,” . “Lighter snow accumulations will be possible on the plains.”

Snow will be possible in Denver between 7 a.m. Friday and 5 p.m. Saturday, so the amount of snow expected in the city may grow as the weather service’s forecast extends.
